Welcome to Refugia Gardening!

Refugia are small pockets of resilience where communities of interacting species can survive and adapt to new fitness conditions resulting from climate change and other ecological disturbances.

Refugia Gardening is a strategy for protecting key ecological functions by helping local biodiversity adapt to new climate conditions in human-dominated landscapes. Refugia Gardening can also nurture relational caring and hopefulness about the future.
